I got so fed up with the thing, I decided to just leave it after re-installing from scratch and observing the exact same crash.
I continued to work on my 8.0.2 client (which I have installed into another folder) for a week or so.
Last night, I decided that I'd have another go at fixing it.
Before un-installing, cleaning up, and re-installing, I thought I'd just give it another go (like trying to start your car a day later after it has flooded).
It worked!!
I have no idea what has changed since the multitude of times I tried over a couple of weeks to get it going, but it is now working.
Of course, I have been too afraid to shut down my PC to try and restart it, but I'll let you know if I find anything that causes the crash.
Now I have to catch up to everyone who has plunged headlong into xPage development - Hoooaaaahh!
